On 27 November, the Greek Committee of the Blue Shield hosted the international Conference “Cultural heritage, innovation and sustainable development: the contribution of ReΙnΗerit” in the framework of the EU project HORIZON 2020 ReInHerit. The ReInHerit partners had the opportunity to present their work, in light of the sustainable development goals and in particular the pillars of social, economic, environmental sustainability, peace and security; areas which are inextricably linked to the goals of the project.
The aim of the program is to create an innovative Digital Hub between museums and cultural heritage sites, in order to present Europe’s heritage, intangible or not, to citizens and tourists in their wider historical and geographical contexts. The program has tried to create an open digital cultural heritage ecosystem, where, with the appropriate tools and resources, museums, cultural heritage sites, communities and professionals from the field of Culture will collaborate, exchange innovative ideas, so as to promote best practices in the field of management and enhancement of the European cultural heritage.
The conference was held in a hybrid format (live and online). Photos of the event are available on the website of the Greek National Committee.
Take the survey
The goal is to understand how familiar cultural heritage professionals are with the outputs and the tools offered by the ReInHerit project and to create the conditions for a larger number of people to benefit from them. The results will be presented in the ReInHerit H2020 final conference organised by the project leader Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. At the same time, the aim is to draw conclusions on what policies should be implemented to address the challenges CH professionals are facing at an EU level.
