30th Anniversary Events of The Blue Shield. 

INFORMATION NOTICE FOR VIDEO RECORDING AND PHOTOGRAPHY IN ACCORDANCE WITH REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)

 The "UNIC ATHENS UNIVERSITY LEGAL ENTITY" (hereinafter "UNIC Athens"), headquartered in Elliniko Attikis, 29th Street, no. 17, P.C. 16777, informs you, as Data Controller in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the provisions of Greek legislation (Law 4624/2019) on the protection of personal data, that it processes your personal data, which are collected during video recordings and photography that take place at the 30th Anniversary Events of The Blue Shield, scheduled from 23 to 26 October 2026, with events hosted at the Acropolis Museum on 23 October, UNIC Athens on 24–25 October, and the War Museum of Athens on 26 October, in accordance with the following.

1. TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED AND PROCESSING PURPOSES

The personal data we collect are image and voice data, obtained as part of educational and social activities of UNIC ATHENS and will be used for the creation of promotional, advertising and/or educational material, which will be displayed/posted indicatively:

1. a) in possible live streaming via the internet,
2. b) on the official website of UNIC Athens as well as on its social media accounts,
3. c) in the media (print, radio, television, online media, etc.),
4. d) in advertising and promotional material of UNIC Athens (advertising brochures, newsletters, press releases, etc.),
5. e) within the framework of UNIC Athens events.

2. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

The processing of your personal data is based on your consent, which you provide electronically by accepting the terms and conditions of your study at UNIC ATHENS. Your consent is necessary for the collection, creation and use of such material, especially when the video or photograph focuses on you or in case you are asked for a statement that is video recorded or audio recorded.

3. DATA RECIPIENTS

Recipients of your data may be:

1. a) employees and associates of UNIC Athens in the exercise of their duties,
2. b) content production companies and event organization companies,
3. c) advertising companies and other related companies that collaborate with UNIC Athens,
4. d) social media, news media, viewers of event promotion activities,
5. e) the University of Nicosia (parent institution), within the framework of exercising control over UNIC ATHENS (branch), in accordance with the provisions of Law 5094/2024.

5. DATA RETENTION PERIOD

Your data will be retained for ten years and, subsequently, will be securely deleted by UNIC Athens, unless the legal/regulatory framework or the exercise of claims and defense of rights and legitimate interests or the need to maintain archives requires their further retention.

In case you withdraw your consent, your data will be securely deleted by UNIC Athens, provided there is no other purpose that justifies the continuation of their retention.

6. YOUR RIGHTS FOR THE PROTECTION OF YOUR DATA

You have the following rights:

1. a) right of access to your personal data,
2. b) right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data,
3. c) right to erasure,
4. d) right to data portability,
5. e) right to restriction of processing,
6. f) right to object to processing,
7. g) right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal,
8. h) right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority, which is the competent supervisory authority for the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons with regard to the processing of their personal data, if you believe that your rights are violated in any way.
