Polish Conference: “Evacuation of collections in special cases – rules of conduct. Law and practice”

A conference from the series Safety of the museum / Safety in the museum titled “Evacuation of collections in special cases – rules of conduct. Law and practice” took place in Warsaw in Wilanow Palace on December 11, 2018.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Polish Committee of the Blue Shield, the Polish National Committee of ICOM and the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace.

The conference program included issues concerning the principles of preparation, and conducting evacuation of collections in special cases, presentations of global solutions, principles of dealing with modern carriers of museum collections during evacuation, and legal solutions, as well as directions of necessary changes in the area of evacuation of cultural heritage objects.

114 people took part in the conference. Due to the great interest in the subject, the Polish Committee of the Blue Shield plans to organize further regional meetings on this topic in 2019.
