Peruvian Committee of the Blue Shield Established

It is with the greatest pleasure that the Blue Shield officially recognises the Peruvian Committee of the Blue Shield. Blue Shield International offers its sincere congratulations to Peru, and the new Committee.

Peru has ratified the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and its two Protocols (1954, 1999). The Peruvian Committee is committed to raising awareness of these regulations in Peru and to providing training and assistance to mitigate risks to heritage. The committee also intends to engage communities in the protection of their heritage and to promote cooperation among relevant national, regional, and local entities involved in armed conflicts and disasters. We look forward to collaborating with them in this important work.

Blue Shield International once again congratulates the Peruvian Committee – welcome to the Blue Shield!
