In December 2022 BS Netherlands said goodbye to Jeroen Vervliet.

We are very happy to announce that we have found a fantastic colleague to follow in his footsteps: Foekje Boersma
Foekje is Head of Collection Care at the KB National Library of the Netherlands. Emergency preparedness and the protection and salvage of collections in times of crisis have been areas of particular interest for her. She has assisted in the recovery of several small to large scale disasters, helped to coordinate the ICOM Museum Emergency Program and to develop ICCROM’s First Aid to Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis program.
Prior to joining the library, Foekje worked at the Getty Conservation Institute as the program manager of Managing Collection Environments. In her current role she is implementing more sustainable climate control strategies at the national library as well as working on a new remote storage facility using passive climate control.
(And on a more personal note: Foekje is not only very knowledgeable but also a very fun person 😊)”
