The Czech Committee of the Blue Shield has held one committee meeting in 2019. They organized a talk by Captain Pavel Stehlik, army historian and member of the Military History Institute Prague, about his work for the Czech army mission to Afghanistan and his short stay with the mission to Mali. The Board appreciated his report on activities and experience as well as the army guidelines on the protection of cultural heritage for the mission members.

In February, the committee organized a lecture for members of the memory institutions on protection and care for objects of philatelic interest contained in archive and museum funds. The lecture took place in the National Archive in Prague and was delivered by Dr. František Beneš, a forensic expert in the field of philately, Chairman of the Commission of Experts of the Association of Czech Philatelists, a member of the International Association of Philatelic Experts (AIEP) and of the International Association of Philatelic Journalists (AIJP). The lecture was well attended and the participants appreciated the lecturer’s knowledge and remarks, particularly with regard to the safety of documents submitted to researchers and the broader interested public for study.
