Given the amount of natural disasters Australia has been facing in recent years it might come as no surprise to see the heritage sector deep in preparation.
Throughout the month of October, Blue Shield Australia held two events related to disaster preparedness.
The 13th of October saw the launch of an event entitled ‘Launch of Disaster Preparedness Calendar’, whilst on the 20th an event was held entitled ‘Symposium: Disaster preparedness and our cultural heritage and collections’.
The two events were aimed at preparing heritage personnel for disasters which may impact their collections, and to convey the importance of collections upon the local Australian communities.ess and our cultural heritage and collections’.
With the climate crisis in full swing, we salute the efforts of Blue Shield Australia in their battle to preserve cultural heritage.
