The Backup Ukraine app made by Polycam and Virtue in corporation with Blue Shield Denmark and the Danish UNESCO Commission has won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Lion Awards in the Digital Craft category – AND a Silver Lion as topping. This will hopefully spread the word and make the app even more used in Ukraine. All that matters is the protection and safeguarding of the cultural heritage of Ukraine.
Virtue Futures – part of the Vice Media Group – has developed an app that allows Ukrainian cultural values to be documented in 3D. The Danish UNESCO Commission and Blue Shield Denmark stand behind the initiative and are grateful for all the help and support we have received.
The project, ‘Backup Ukraine‘, gives all Ukrainians access to the 3D scanning app Polycam , which, using the mobile phone’s camera, makes it possible to scan and create 3D copies of monuments and museum objects before they are destroyed by bombs.
Congratulations to Blue Shield Denmark and all involved!
